What more can be said, when it comes to Eastern Railway in expanding its dimensions across the Indian Railways. Eastern Railways has always been a hub of transportation since the establishment of the Britishers in late 16th century. Eastern Railway was established on April 14, 1952 under the leadership of three different routes which included various sections of Eastern Railway. The first and foremost route that was originated under Eastern Railways was the broad-gauge route of Howrah-Hooghly which was created for the first time. Since after then, it was never disappointing for Eastern Railways to cope up with their best services towards its service in Indian Railways Division.
Eatern Railway has its headquarters at Howrah. However Howrah Railway Station is considered to be the major route towards deviation in South Eastern Railway as well as towards extending along the routes of Eastern Railway. Presently Eastern Railways has four major cities under their belt. They are- Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol and Malda Town.
Along olden periods, many other cities were also included but it broke out later on to South Eastern Railway. Now Eastern Railways are with their best performance with their busy transportation along with the introduction of many new trains also in their routes.
